Wild Things: Turtles on the Move
It's the time of year when turtles are on the move and motorists may encounter them in the roadway. Willowbrook Wildlife Center naturalist Stephanie Touzalin explains why the turtle is trying to cross the road and provides tips for helping them get to safety. She also cautions against taking them home to be a pet.
Roads near lakes, ponds and marshes can be turtle-crossing hot spots. If you find an injured turtle, contact Willowbrook at 630-942-6200 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Touzalin talks about how to handle turtles crossing the road on Wild Things on WDCB Radio (90.9 FM).
