Wild Things: Watch for Wading Birds in Ponds, Rivers and Streams
Summertime is a great time to find wading birds in area ponds, rivers and streams in the DuPage County forest preserves. Herons, egrets and bitterns can often be found in the shallow waters and are fascinating to watch as they hunt for food. Their diet consists mainly of fish, crustaceans, amphibians, snakes and aquatic insects.
Naturalist Abby Dean talks about the importance of pollinators and what people can do to help them on Wild Things on WDCB Radio (90.9 FM).
