Oak Meadows Golf Preserve Master Plan

Oak Meadows Golf Preserve

The Forest Preserve District acquired Oak Meadows Golf Preserve in Addison in 1985 after recognizing the property’s value for stormwater retention, open space and recreation. But recent events, including the loss of the 45,000-square-foot clubhouse to fire and increasing instances of significant flood damage, have brought Oak Meadows to a critical juncture. Recognizing multiple needs and opportunities for improvement, the District set out to develop a master plan for Oak Meadows Golf Preserve.

The Golf Scene TV show recently featured a segment on Oak Meadows Golf Preserve to discuss future plans — see the video below.

During the Commission Meeting on November 20, 2012, the Board approved the “Phase I” work completed for the Oak Meadows Golf Preserve Master Plan.  At that time, the Board also approved a contract for a second phase of work intended to further develop the master plan.

The second phase continued through the summer of 2013.  “Phase II - Master Plan Concept Verification” work focused on engineering and design details needed to validate the concepts proposed during conceptual planning, the identification of detailed project costs, and refinements to begin permit and grant applications. The Master Plan Concept Verification document describes results of the “Phase II” process. This document can be downloaded below.
