Wild Things: Citizen Scientists Offer a Wealth of Data
Willowbrook Wildlife Center Naturalist Ron Skleney discusses volunteers' roles in monitoring and recording data to support native plant and animal communities on Wild Things. This data not only helps our ecologists assess wildlife populations but also tracks trends in species' health and diversity in DuPage forest preserves.
If citizen science is something of interest to you, join our Natural Resource team for an overview on bluebird and amphibian monitoring opportunities on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Grounds and Resources Complex located at 29W220 Mack Rd. at Blackwell Forest Preserve in West Chicago. District ecologists will explain the volunteer bluebird monitoring program from 10 a.m. ‒ noon and the amphibian program from 1 ‒ 3 p.m. To register, call Volunteer Services at (630) 933-7681.
