Vehicles and Equipment For Sale in Online Auctions
(March 27, 2017) — The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will sell surplus and unclaimed items through a series of online auctions that will run early April through mid-November.
Items will be auctioned off through weekly bidding periods and include vehicles, furniture, office equipment and bicycles. A complete listing of auction items and specific dates for the auctions will be posted on the District’s website under Get Involved and District Auctions, as well as Facebook and Twitter pages, which will be updated regularly as auction dates are confirmed.
Bidding for the first auction opens at 3 p.m. April 10 at www.govdeals.com/dupageforest, which will also include photos and details about the auction items. The webpage is active only during live auctions.
Interested bidders who want to view the items in person at the District’s fleet management facility should schedule appointment weekdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. by calling 630-580-7100. Viewing will be by appointment only during the weeks active auctions are taking place.
“These online auctions help the District repurpose items so we can keep them out of the landfills,” said Forest Preserve District of DuPage County President Joe Cantore. “They also generate revenue for the District and help offset the cost of providing programs and services for visitors.”
“From boats and vehicles to cameras and clothing, the public can find some great deals through these online auctions,” said Forest Preserve District Commissioner Marsha Murphy, District 1.
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has been connecting people to nature for more than 100 years. More than 4 million people visit its 60 forest preserves, 145 miles of trails, five education centers and scores of programs each year.
