Trail Conditions

Heavy rains may cause flooding or washouts on some of our DuPage forest preserve trails. Please use caution and keep an eye out for flooding on our trails after heavy rains. To report a concern in a preserve, visit the Report a Concern page or click the button at the top right corner of this page. Spring Creek Reservoir Floodgate Replacement Project

In early March DuPage County Stormwater Management will begin work to replace the floodgate that separates Spring Brook from the reservoir at Spring Creek Reservoir Forest Preserve.

For visitors’ safety the Forest Preserve District will need to temporarily close the northeastern end of the parking lot and the eastern half of the looped trail, including access to the three minishelters. Visitors should be careful near construction areas and follow all signs and workers’ instructions.

Construction will be complete over summer 2018.

For more information, visit the Stormwater Management webpage (link).
