Volunteer With Special Services
Our Volunteer Program
Our Forest Preserve District’s volunteer program is designed to engage volunteers who are willing to donate their time, talents, and resources to support staff and programs in carrying out the mission, purpose, and guiding principles. The volunteer program offers opportunities to assist and support staff across many diverse programs.

Volunteer With Special Services
Special Services volunteers assist staff with hosting special events and programs at our DuPage forest preserves and centers, handing out brochures, greeting visitors, and manning booths. In some positions they assist staff as clean-up crew volunteers, picking up trash along shores, trails and roadsides; as garden volunteers, weeding and planting; and as photographers, recording our volunteer activities.
