Bids and Proposals

Although Forest Preserve District employees perform land and facilities maintenance, we often hire contractors for large-scale construction or restoration projects.

Purchasing Guidelines

The District purchases required goods and services in conformance with:

  • Illinois state law
  • The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County Purchasing Ordinance (PDF)
  • Resolutions of the Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners
  • Internal administrative policies

Purchasing procedures vary based on contract amount:

Under $30,000 – Procured using small-dollar purchasing procedures and informal quotations.

$30,000 and above – Require formal bidding. Bid announcements are published in local newspapers and posted online via DemandStar.

The District's Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
