Doing Business With the Forest Preserve District

While Forest Preserve District employees perform land and facilities' maintenance, we often employ contractors for largescale construction or restoration projects.

The District purchases required goods and services in conformance with Illinois state law, the DuPage County Purchasing Ordinance, related resolutions of the Board of Commissioners and administrative policies. The District makes requirements for purchases under $20,000 in accordance with established procedures for small-dollar purchases and informal quotations. For purchases over $20,000, it advertises formal bid announcements in local newspapers and also lists them on this page. 

A supplier who is aware of a solicitation may contact the department listed on the announcement to request a bid document.

The District's Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is currently seeking bids and proposals on the following projects.

 

Fleet Bids

The District’s Fleet Management purchases items such as vehicles, landscaping and construction equipment at various times throughout the year. Information and specifications about items out for bid can be found here. Please check dates for each bid, as they will not have the same due dates or meeting dates. It is the bidder’s responsibility to check back occasionally for all amendments and other documents. 


 

Project Bids 

 

Tree Maintenance Projects at Waterfall Glen, McDowell Grove and Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserves

Sealed bids will be received until 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 for a project titled “Tree Maintenance Projects at Waterfall Glen, McDowell Grove, and Pratts Wayne Woods Forest Preserves” and will be opened 10:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the main office of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County – Oak Room, 3S580 Naperville Road, Wheaton, Illinois, 60189-8761.

The project entails dead and hazardous tree removal throughout Waterfall Glen, McDowell Grove, and Pratts Wayne Woods forest preserves’ trail systems totaling approximately 2,398 diameter inches of trees. Trees shall be marked in accordance with a list provided by Forest Preserve District of DuPage County staff. Each preserve's totals are as follows: Waterfall Glen – approximately 1833”, McDowell Grove – approximately 309”, and Pratt's Wayne Woods – approximately 256”.
