Volunteer With Our Rangers

Volunteer Ranger Program assistants assist our rangers with recreational programs and events and support volunteer workdays in the DuPage forest preserves.

Purpose

The Forest Preserve District's Volunteer Services program is designed to engage volunteers who are willing to donate their time, talents and resources to support the programs and staff in carrying out the mission, purpose and guiding principles of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and its various volunteer programs. 

 

Program Assistant

Position: Program Assistant
Committment: Flexible (20 hours, +1 event)
Location: District-wide
Minimum Age: 18
Application Deadline: Feb. 1

Distinguishing Features of the Position
Assist staff by providing visitor information and helping with recreational programs at preserves and educational sites throughout the District. Work may include staffing the Greene Valley scenic overlook, picking up litter and assisting with cleanup projects on preserve property. Interact with the public and respond to questions and requests for information. Duties may vary at the discretion of District staff. Direction and training is received from staff.
