Teacher Advisory Group
Welcome to the Teacher Advisory Group Hub
Thank you for being part of the Teacher Advisory Group. This page is your central spot for everything you need as a member, including upcoming meeting details, frequently asked questions, and shared resources. Use it to stay connected, prepared, and engaged with the work we’re doing together.
Advisors & Advocates
As a Teacher Advisory Group member, you provide valuable insight into what works in classrooms and how we can better support teachers and students.
Voices at the Table
You represent the perspective of educators in program planning and decision-making, helping ensure initiatives reflect real classroom needs.
Collaborators
Your role includes reviewing materials, offering constructive feedback, and sharing innovative ideas that strengthen our programs.
Connectors
You serve as a link between the District and your school communities, sharing information and opportunities both ways.
Commitment
Members are expected to attend scheduled meetings, review provided materials, and participate actively in discussions and projects.
What is the commitment for a TAG member?
Members join TAG for a one-year term and may be invited back on an annual basis. Although we encourage TAG members to participate in every TAG meeting, we understand that teachers are busy people with a lot of responsibilities! During TAG meetings we expect that you will participate in activities and share your voice.
What if I cannot make a TAG meeting?
If you cannot make a TAG meeting you can still provide feedback on topics of discussion or projects by accessing the TAG Padlet.
Will the Forest Preserve District work with me to make a custom program?
The goal of TAG is to inform Forest Preserve District staff on the needs of students and teachers to develop equitable school programs and resources that can be accessed by students across DuPage County. We are eager to hear your ideas but may not be able to fulfill custom program requests.
Can I earn CPDU/E from participating in TAG?
Currently the Forest Preserve District is not authorized to award continuing professional development units to teachers participating in TAG; however, this is an incentive we are pursuing.
How can I book a free pilot program?
If a TAG project includes pilot opportunities, we will announce those opportunities in advance. You would complete a school program request form like normal with a note that you’re interested in the pilot version. Free pilot opportunities may have limitations on the number of groups or students able to participate.
