Waterfall Glen Bridge Replacement
In spring of 2022, an ice dam event destroyed an existing bridge over Sawmill Creek along the preserve's Main Trail between mile markers 5.5 and 6.0.
A temporary bridge was installed to keep the trail open while a more permanent bridge was designed.
The new bridge will be a 65 feet long by 14 feet wide with bicycle railing on both approaches. It will be about 4 feet higher than the one that washed away.
The temporary bridge will be removed and stored for future use.
The project was publicly bid on April 10, 2023, and bids were opened on May 2, 2023. MYS Incorporated was the lowest responsible bidder. A contract for the project was awarded on May 16, 2023.
Construction is scheduled to begin in August and be completed by the end of October.
The awarded contract amount is $696,509.24. The project is funded by FY 22/23 Capital Improvement Funds.
