Take a Romantic Night Hike at Oak Meadows Golf Preserve
Popular lantern-lit evening walk moves to new location, pairs with dining at Greenway Table & Tap
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County invites adults to enjoy a winter evening outdoors during its annual “Nature Date Night: Romantic Night Hike” Feb. 12 and 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Greenway Table & Tap at The Preserve at Oak Meadows, 900 N. Wood Dale Road, Addison.
The popular program, formerly held at Fullersburg Woods in Oak Brook, features a 1.5-mile self-guided stroll along lantern-lit trails with warming fires. At the end of the walk, guests can roast marshmallows and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and s’mores. Hikes leave at the top of each hour; the last group departs at 8 p.m., and trails close at 9 p.m.
“This event offers more than a hike. It’s a full evening experience,” said Ed Stevenson, director of golf. “Guests can enjoy a lantern-lit walk and pair it with a dinner reservation before or after at Greenway Table & Tap, all in one place.”
The program is for ages 18 and up and costs $12 per person. Guests can register for the hike online or at 630-933-7248. Participants should dress for winter conditions and wear sturdy walking shoes or boots, as trails may be muddy or icy. Greenway Table & Tap is open until 9 p.m., with the last seating at 8 p.m. Dinner reservations are recommended and available online or at 630-595-1800.
The evening is part of a growing lineup of specialty events at Greenway Table & Tap. On Feb. 18, the restaurant will host a beer dinner featuring selections from local Church Street Brewing Company. The five-beer, four-course experience runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and costs $55 per person, plus tax and gratuity. On Feb. 19, it will host February Trivia Night: Love and Liberty from 7 to 8:30 p.m., featuring $5 craft beers from DuPage County breweries. Trivia is free to play, with food and beverages available for purchase. Details and tickets for both events are available at greenwaytap.com.
