The 138-acre Lyman Woods Forest Preserve in Downers Grove contains oak woodland, prairie, and marsh habitats and is operated and jointly owned by Downers Grove Park District. The William F. Sherman, Jr. Interpretive Center at Lyman Woods is operated by Downers Grove Park District. The preserve is open daily from one hour after sunrise until one hour after sunset.
